Y2k Commitment

Year 2000 Concern
Many organizations are concerned about the impact that the Year 2000 will have on their computer-based products and services. This concern centers around interruption of product operation and/or the flow of parts and services required to maintain smooth continuous usage. Air Instruments & Measurements, as part of our on-going commitment of providing customers with superior gas analyzers products and support services, has performed a comprehensive evaluation of those products to verify Year 2000 compliance.

The Bug
The ability of computer systems to operate through the Year 2000 and beyond is a major concern to MIS directors and other computer users as the year date change from 1999 to 2000 approaches.

Because of limited memory availability at the time, most older data processing and other computer systems were designed to store, process, and display only the last two digits of a year date. Thus, the Year "1996" was usually stored or encoded in computer memory as "96" and subsequent operations assumed the century date to be "19". Many computer systems will fail to operate, or will operate incorrectly, or will produce ambiguous results, after the rollover to the Year 2000.

Consequently, there is an enormous industry and government effort underway to determine which software and systems will not be affected by the rollover, and which will need to be upgraded or replaced.

Our Commitment
Air Instruments & Measurements has conducted an evaluation of all our internal systems, vendors and business partners to help ensure that all potential Y2K problem areas are identified. This evaluation was completed in early 1999 allowing us to update systems and make any required corrections well in advance of the millennium.

We have initiated a program to update our internal systems to bring them into compliance for the Year 2000. This program is in progress and we are implementing the required changes. Strong management funding and commitment has been achieved.

Year 2000 Readiness Disclosures
Under the provisions of the 'Year 2000 Information and Readiness Act' (Senate Bill 2392) signed by the President on October 20, 1998, notice is given that the following Year 2000 statements are each being designated as a 'Year 2000 Readiness Disclosure' for their respective products.

If you have any further issues regarding Year 2000 compliance of specific Air Instruments & Measurements products, systems or services, please send an e-mail to info@aimanalysis.com
